Everyone one of us wants our computers to work fast. As soon as we give the command we want it to respond. Though it takes only a fraction of seconds we want computer to be faster than it is now.

Here are 5 ways by which you can speed up your PC.
1) Free up disk space.
By freeing up the disk space the computer performance can be increased. The disk cleanup tool helps you to identify the files that can be deleted without any harm to other files in the computer. This helps in removing temporary internet files, downloaded program files, empty recycle bin, windows temporary files, optional window components that you don’t use and installed programs that you don’t use.
2) Speed up the access to data
To speed the access of data is through disc defragmentation. Disk fragmentation slows the overall performance so with your defragmentation files are stored neatly end to end without fragmentation so reading and writing to disk speeds up.
3) Detect and repair disk errors.
In addition to disk clean up and defragmenter you can check the integrity of the files stored on your hard disk by running the error checking utility. If you are a daily computer user you can do this to prevent data loss.
4) Protect your computer against spy ware
Spy wares collects al your personal information in the computer when you browse websites this not only a privacy concern but also it degrades the performance of the computer.
5) Learn all about ReadyBoost
This is a new concept of adding memory to a system. It allows you to use non volatile flash memory to improve performance without having to add additional memory. In Vista you have an option called ReadyBoost.

How to Defrag March 7, 2010 at 12:08 pm

Great Article,

I find that the best way to speed up a computer is by defragmenting it.

You can use the Windows Defrag Tool that can speed up your computer by miles, I recently ran it on my five year old Windows XP Machine and now it flys!

Saves you money as you don’t have to buy a new computer.
